# Configure URL parameters to boost performance campaign

## **Why do we need to configure URL parameters?**

For Meta Ad tracking and evaluation, URL parameters are essential. This lets you track how consumers interact with your adverts, helping you make better advertising strategy and budget decisions. Zotek will correlate parameters from Meta advertisements' URLs to customer actions (events) in your shop to evaluate campaigns, ad sets, and ads.

## **How to config UTM parameters?**

All you need is to put our UTM string in the URL parameters field at the ad level and [set up everything else as you normally do](https://web.facebook.com/business/help/1016122818401732?_rdc=1&_rdr#). Then Zotek will analyze everything for you.

**Step 1**: Copy UTM string

> `utm_source=facebook&utm_medium={{placement}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}&utm_campaign={{campaign.id}}&ad_name={{ad.id}}&adset_name={{adset.id}}`

**Step 2**: Paste UTM string in your Meta Ads, field ***URL parameters***

**Step 3**: View the in-app analytics.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://zotek.gitbook.io/facebook-multiple-pixel/getting-started/understanding-tracking-events/configure-url-parameters-to-boost-performance-campaign.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
