🧑‍💻Setup Meta Pixel

Let's elevate your data capabilities with Zotek.

After successfully creating datasets, let's install the pixel on your online store with Zotek.

With the Zotek app, you have two methods for pixel installation: manual and automatic.

Method 1: Manual Input Pixel

For this approach, copy the Dataset Name and Dataset ID of the datasets you want to use for storing data on your online store. Then, paste them into the corresponding fields on the Zotek creation screen.

From the left sidebar of your Shopify Admin >> navigate to Apps section >> Zotek Facebook Pixel >> then hit Pixel Manager

Paste your Pixel name and Facebook Pixel ID into these fields.

Method 2: Auto Input Pixel

Select Auto input pixel. Fill out your Pixel Name >> Select bussiness account >> Select Facebook Pixel ID in the dropdown effortlessly.

Allow Zotek to connect with your Meta account, enabling us to automatically fill in the necessary information for setting up the pixel on your online store.

Choose the following options to enhance and customize your data.

  • Target Area

These are the tracking targets you can aim for. We offer three options:

  • Entire Store: Monitors events on all pages within your online store

  • Collections: Tracks actions related to selected collections

  • Products: Tracks actions related to selected products

  • Countries: Tracks actions related to selected countries.

  • Events

Zotek assists you in tracking up to 9 different events:

  • PageView : The PageView event logs an instance where a customer visited a page. This event is available on the online store, checkout, and order status pages.

  • ViewContent : The ViewContent event logs an instance where a customer visited a product details page. This event is available on the product page.

  • AddToCart : The AddToCart event logs an instance where a customer adds a product to their cart. This event is available on the online store page.

  • InitiateCheckout : The InitiateCheckout event logs an instance of a customer starting the checkout process. This event is available on the checkout page. For Checkout Extensibility, this event is triggered every time a customer enters checkout. For non-checkout extensible shops, this event is only triggered the first time a customer enters checkout.

  • Purchase : The Purchase event logs when a visitor completes a purchase. It's triggered once for each checkout, typically on the 'Thank You' page. However, for upsells and post purchases, the Purchase event is triggered on the first upsell offer page instead. The event isn't triggered again on the 'Thank You' page. If the page where the event is supposed to be triggered fails to load, then the Purchase event isn't triggered at all.

Event custom:

  • Search: The Search event logs an instance where a customer performed a search on the storefront. The products returned from the search query are in this event object (the first product variant for each product is listed in the array). This event is available on the online store page.

  • CollectionView: The CollectionView event logs an instance where a customer visited a product collection index page. This event is available on the online store page.

  • AddPaymentInfo: The AddPaymentInfo event logs an instance of a customer submitting their payment information. This event is available on the checkout page.

  • CartView: The CartView event logs an instance where a customer visited the cart page.

Upgrade Your Data with Conversion API

Why is Conversion API beneficial for your website?

Meta pixel faces challenges in gathering data in certain scenarios:

  • Users browsing in incognito mode

  • Users refusing permission for cookie data collection

  • Users employing ad-blocking software. With recent updates from Google and iOS 14, users have the ability to restrict data sharing from browsers and operating systems.

Conversion API is designed to address issues encountered by Meta pixel. It records user information directly on the server's internet activity of the website. Therefore, even if browsers or operating systems limit Pixel data tracking, CAPI can still function.

=> To set up Conversion API, provide Zotek with the Access Token.

Get an access token

The access token is a key that allows our app to send server events to Meta server through Conversion API (CAPI). Server events will be stored in your pixel ID and processed the same way as browser events by Meta.

Step 1: In your Meta Bussiness account >> navigate to section Event Manager >> select Datasets >> navigate to Settings tab.

Step 2: Scroll down to Set up direct integration >> hit button Generate access token

Copy the token

Step 3: Paste the access token in the section Server side config then hit Save button at the middle top of the page
